2022 | Interactive Shadow Prototype

Xtended Light

There is an expanded range of colors exists beyond normal human perception. Birds see the world with different colors than humans. Thus coexistence of multiple realities can be achieved by the difference in the observer’s sensory systems. This project aims to digitally simulate such multiple realities in the physical world. We are able to see another layer of reality based on the position and orientation of the light. Objects have different materials and surface textures based on where the projected light is. This is not a “real” light and shadow, but where the light hits acts as a dynamic mask to reveal another layer of reality, enabling immersive, mixed-reality, and phygital storytelling across multiple surfaces merging both tangible objects and digital pixels.
